Week 8 - MKTG 3349- AI as a Career

 


    Artificial Intelligence continues to become more popular by the day and more recruiters are requesting candidates to have this skill. "It is expected that AI will add around $15.7 trillion to the global economy by 2030" therefore job opportunities will grow tremendously. There are number of ways individuals can further their education in AI this includes (Coursera):

1. Earning a undergraduate degree in computer science, data science, machine learning or if offered AI itself. 
2. Specializing in AI. Earning a Master of Science (MS) can improve chances of individuals receiving a higher positioned job and higher salary.
3.Take online courses: Typically shorter length to complete but will still look impressive on a resume.
     Some AI courses include MOOCs, IBM Applied AI, Google Cloud

The benefits of earning a degree in AI include:
- Higher salaries.
- Individuals are stronger candidates. 
- Less chance of being unemployed due to the demand.

According to Business Insider's Abhineet Kaul states that employers are seeing significant increases in productivity from using AI. These skills are highly valued by employers and many different employees from different age groups are interested in learning these skills. As stated previously, job opportunities continue to grow and some of the most listed job opportunities are offered by competitive employers like Capital One and Amazon. Many individuals are often worried about AI and or developing technologies replacing their jobs but truly its the employees that have such desired skills that are taking jobs. In order to be exempt from those situations it is important to continue investing in your knowledge and skills. (Mok)

Week 6- Mktg 3349 - The Courtney Quinn Interview

     After graduating university it can be difficult to understand what you want to do professionally. Some go back to their part time jobs until they find a full time in their specialty and some individuals pursue a different path. Courtney Quinn has shared some of her work experience and tips that will become useful for individuals who need more help finding a job. She has stated that internships are a great ways to get yourself knowledgeable about the industry as well as create connections and learn hands on. Personally, I have always had a difficult time learning in schools due to my short attention span and having a hard time retaining information. Therefore, I pursued many internship opportunities and that is where I was able to learn the most. She states that if internships are not possible then you can open your own Shopify store. Week 1 - MKTG 3349 - Introduction

      My name is Samantha Ortiz and I am majoring in business administration with a concentration in digital marketing. I am currently taking MKTG 3347 as well with Professor Kelsey; where I have learned more about AI and the importance of LinkedIn. I look forward to learning more about AI and about search engine marketing. I do have some experience with SEO as I took a simulation course via Semrush. But I could always learn more about the use of keywords; and how to accurately use certain tactics.               AI has become so apparent around the world it is imperative that we become knowledgeable about this industry and the use of technology. Search engine marketing is also very well used; I am very interested in learning about how algorithms are used and how small businesses can use this style of marketing. The knowledge I will receive from this course will be beneficial for courses I will take in the spring.
